Beginning with the seed of local collectors, the Deerfield Valley Art Asociation has begun work toward establishing a Museum in Franklin County for which it plans to acquire, preserve, exhibit and promote the art, craft, and design created by artists born or working significantly in the New England states.

To this end, DVAA maintains a working committee and a fund for the ultimate purpose of housing current DVAA-member exhibtions and the historical collections of the Museum of New England Art.

We welcome public participation; please contact us for information on how you can contribute to the Museum project:  413 225-3132 or edcp.bap@comcast.net

The Museum of New England Art

[MoNEA] is underway (as featured in the Greenfield Recorder, No 10, 2016)

MISSION of the Museum of New England Art, Home of the Deerfield Valley Art Association, is to establish a permanent home for the organization's history and its current and future members, and to acquire, preserve, exhibit, and promote the art, craft, and design created by individuals born or working significantly in the six New England states.

PHASE I (2014-2016):  Create business plan, gift policy, and MoNEA's online gallery website.  Begin Public Art Project. Research grant possibilities. Market the ideas of MoNEA.

PHASE II (2017-2020):  Rent gallery space for MoNEA and DVAA which includes art storage.  Hire administrative assistant.  Apply for grants.  Begin to acquire collections.  Expand Public Art Project with contracted curator.  Explore permanent MoNEA facility locations in Franklin County.  Solicit donors.

PHASE III (2020-  ): Acquire and move to MoNEA"s permanent location which will house our permanent collection, a DVAA artists' gallery, and DVAA's artist's store, as well as office and storage space.
